We have new details about the accident on Walnut Creek Pike near Perrill Road from Friday evening. We can confirm that the accident was not a result of a “high-speed” chase or race between the two vehicles.
Last night, an Infinity G-35 was driving North on Walnut Creek Pike when the driver, identified as 22-year-old Nikolas Deeds of Pickerington, attempted to pass multiple vehicles. During Deeds’ attempt to pass, oncoming traffic forced him back into the northbound lane where he hit a Lincoln Town Car, containing driver Mark Dixon and his passenger Judy Dixon, into a large ravine. Both Dixon’s were transported to a Columbus hospital for treatment. Both Mark and Judy recurved significant injuries with Judy being placed in the Intensive Care Unit.
Deeds was cited for assured clear distance and improper passing.
We will update the story as additional details emerge.
