Ohio Senator proposes purely American flag bill

Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown and Republican Senator Susan Collins, of Maine, have, introduced legislation called the “All-American Flag Act” that would require the government to buy flags made entirely in the United States, made of only American materials.

Currently, the federal government is required to buy flags made with at least 50 percent American-made materials. Two proposals to ensure purely American flags passed the Senate twice since 2010, but both times those efforts ended in the House of Representatives.
